I used this on my 14 lb. Shih Tzu at 8am. He slept almost all day and was up all Fri. Nocturnal, Sat., and Sat. nocturnal with diarrhea and nausea. This is a terrible poison and must not be used below any circumstances.

Bought this medication on recommendation from the vet. Within 10 minutes of application my miniature Australian Shepherd was foaming at the mouth and drooling everywhere. I was very careful to follow the box instructions, and there is no way she managed to get any into her mouth. This was a reaction to the topical application. Her gums became very colorless and she became very lethargic. Over the way of the next two hours, I gave her three baths to try and get the crap off. It has now been six hours and the foaming has stopped and color has returned to her gums, but she is still drooling and very lethargic. I'm hoping she will continue to improve. Called a vet and they said not to bring her in except her symptoms worsen. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!

I have a 4 time old 10 lb. Yorkie. South Texas has a dry denote and ticks are ABUNDANT. I used other tick preventatives and they didn't work. I used Certifect as it was recommended by the vet. I am happy to display he has no ticks and his health was habitual. I followed directions just so according to the label.

I am a vet tech including 8 years experience and I be inflicted including by no means seen this kind of reaction after applying a topical flea/tick preventative. I received a free sample of Certifect from the Merial sales rep in my clinic's area, so I applied it on my normally healthy, 6 year old, 21 lb, Jack Russell mix on Friday nocturnal and he is subdue acting ill (it is now Sunday). This isn't printed on the label, but after doing some research, I found that Certifect can produce hypothermia, seizures, vomiting, diarrhea, uncoordination, lethargy (on the label) and possible liver failure. My little guy began acting strangly yesterday, the morning after applying this medication. He was lethargic, depressed, walking uncoordinated and gagging all day. Anyone that knows the personality of a Jack Russel knows that is isn't normal. I became very worried last nocturnal, so I check his vital cryptogram. His heart rate was single 60, when his normal resting heart rate about 88. His temperate was single 99.7 degrees (normal dog's temp is 100-102.5 degrees). I wasn't sure what to do, so I gave him a skilled bath including a lot of dish soap and water. I scrubbed the medication off the best I could. I wrapped in up in warm towels after drying him off and modest a accurate eye on him all nocturnal. Needless to say, I was very worried and it was a nerve-racking nocturnal. Be fond of I said, it's very near been 48 hours in view of the fact that applying Certifect and he is subdue groggy. I've had to distinguished animals at work for innumerable health check procedures and the way he is acting is be fond of a dog after waking up from sedation. Tomorrow is Monday and if he isn't better, I plan on taking him to my clinic for health check trouble. Please don't buy or try this product. You will in effect be poisoning your dog.

I am NOT particular with the intention of Certifect CAUSED the seizures in my 9 beat, 11 time old Pomeranian, BUT on 2 uncommon monthly applications of it, my dog had seizures on the constant day as she expected her dose of Certifect. After the at the initiation calculate, my vet not compulsory splitting up the dose into 2 living, which I did. But this following calculate, flush after the reduced dose, she had 4 seizures shortly in the day and it also missing a big red irritated characteristic at the site on her narrow part the following calculate. The vet was competent to yield her an antidote and cleanse her to get the surplus off of her and she is being compensated in trade to her old barking nature. I am throwing gone my remaining doses and will by no means use it over again.

I used this manufactured goods on my 6 lb. teacup schnauzer. Within 12 hours she was having seizures and vomiting. She became absolutely uncaring and we are soothe struggling to save her life. It will be appealing to see if Merial will help with any of my vet cost to get hopefully back to health. I would give this manufactured goods no stars if I may maybe

Caution, the packaging will tell you with the intention of the drug can produce stupor. I be inflicted with an 8 pound dog with the intention of is 1.75 being old. He has old Frontline Plus since I initially took him to the vet after bringing him home. Frontline Plus never caused a bad reaction. He had a tick attach over the summer and I found others on him in. I spoke with the vet who said with the intention of the ticks were apt passionate to the contemporary formulation and with the intention of a new formulation would be out quickly. Certifect came out and the vet recommended it. I useful it to my dog and he had a bad reaction. He couldn't actually walk well, seemed highly drugged, drunk-like and was extremely gradual and calm down. He is normally a extremely lively and good-natured dog and has tons of energy. The next day he was extremely calm down and sleepy. It took in this area 48 hours for him to look extra normal. Luckily by the third day he was back to normal. I will never use Certifect again. Be strict and mind your dog after applying. Amitraz seems to be the ingredient with the intention of causes the problems.

On the in rank of my veterinarian, I just altered my dog's flea and tick prevention drug to a new manufactured goods called Certifect, because I was told that it was "more effectual" than other harvest on the promote. I had been using Frontline, which she tolerated well, but it didn't seem to work ...very well as she had been infected twice before by anaplasmosis, a tick-born disease.Well, estimate what? She was just diagnosed with her THIRD anaplasmosis infection, and as an extra extra bonus, the Certifect poisoned her too (extreme stupor, difficult breathing, dilated pupils, wobbly on her legs). I spent a long Overstress Day sundown in an creature emergency clinic everywhere she had to get an antidote shot, and then, on the in rank of the vet there, had to give her a head-to-toe bath in a detergent solution when I got home at midnight in an try to wash the poison off her. This daylight she's soothe not 100%, and I just got back from her regular vet, who reconfirmed the diagnosis (Amitraz toxicosis, Amitraz life the committed insect killer in Certifect) and gave her a second shot. I'm told she may well need a third one tomorrow. So if you love your pet, do NOT use Certifect, and delight tell all your acquaintances, and tell your vet, too. (My vet, by the way, has now blocked a proper protest with the FDA). A modest web-surfing last nocturnal proved that this is not an isolated conundrum: there are factually dozens if not hundreds of dogs and cats commence poisoned by this crap, which doesn't even work! I just got off the buzz with the company's hotline and got the typical brush-off, so I think it's time to show a modest shared media muscle. If ample pet owners stop buying it, maybe the company will do the aptly business and take this poison off the promote.
