Exceptional for animal use for cases of diarrhea. The Kaopectate purchased from most pharmacies and equipment is a bismuth subsalicylate formula that my vet recommends against in the treatment of many animals (such as cats). This manufactured goods is an exceptional solution with a very reasonable cost.

I found this doesn't work as well as the Kaolin from dionne products which was much thicker. I was using it for a cat with cronic diareaha, and have since gone To Fortiflora by Purina veterinary diets- a micro-encapsulated probiotic powder which you put in cats food. This seems to be helping. I have also used a human grade probiotic in high concentration for the cat -that helped too, and is less expensive than the fortiflora.

I was so glad to find this. They no longer make kaopectate for human consumption, and I use this myself as I am a chemo patient, and nothing else works. They have replaced the kaopectate formula with bismuth. Basically Pepto Bismol, which doesn't work for me, and I can't give to my cats because of the aspirin in the Bismuth. The price was terrific, and reconcile me, when nothing else works, this is a gift from the gods.
